 Mittauer & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1989 and now serves over 50 governmental clients on a continuing basis, including cities, towns, counties, utilities, CRAs, authorities and other special districts. We have successfully completed over 1,600 civil, water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater, roads and recreational projects, including parks and boating facilities. We are project funding specialists and have been instrumental in obtaining over $150 million in grant and loan funding for our clients. Joseph A. Mittauer, P.E., President of Mittauer & Associates, Inc. has 40 years of engineering experience in water/wastewater design, structural & environmental  and material handling design.

 

He is also a seasoned expert in grant funding, permitting and construction administration.  As President and Principal-In-Charge of the firm, Mr. Mittauer is actively involved  in all projects. His hands-on leadership ensures that there is a creative, collaborative and client-needs driven approach to every project.

 

Mr. Mittauer graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1976 and has been a  registered Professional  Engineer in Florida since 1981. Additionally, he holds professional registrations in the States of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and South Carolina.

 

Timothy P. Norman, P.E., Vice President of Mittauer & Associates, Inc. received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Florida in 1984 and has been a Professional Engineer in Florida since 1989. He joined Mittauer & Associates, Inc. 22 years ago and has 32 years of engineering experience.

 

Mr. Norman’s experience includes the study, design, permitting and construction administration of many water, wastewater and reuse water collection, distribution and treatment projects throughout Florida.

 

The environmental engineering team led by Mr. Norman employs a collaborative and creative process that seeks input from operators through management to ensure that the solutions developed are scaled to the client's capacity and technical expertise.

Greg Lang serves as the firm’s Vice President of Community Development.  Mr. Lang specializes in construction management, grant funding/low interest loan procurement and community development.  He has an extensive background in construction administration and previously served as Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency for the City of Cedar Key in Levy County, Florida.

 

Mr. Lang brings over 29 years of experience in project funding and all phases of project management from concept through completion, construction and construction administration as well as municipal and special district project finance and project management.

 

Mr. Lang has a passion for listening to and understanding the client’s project goals and larger stakeholder and community wide goals and effectively communicating those goals throughout the process in a collaborative and effective manner.

 

Mr. Lang holds a Certified Building Contractor's license and is a fellow in the University of Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute.

Mr. Jason Shepler serves as Vice President of Environmental Services for Mittauer & Associates, Inc.  Mr. Shepler received his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida in 1997.  Mr. Shepler has been with the firm for 11 years and has 19 years of experience in funding assistance, project design, permitting, management and development in the environmental engineering areas of: domestic wastewater, potable water, reclaimed water, stormwater systems, and permitting for each respective field as well as land development and site development. His experience has included complete water, wastewater, and reclaimed water treatment facilities as well as lift station rehabilitation projects for small and large utilities. Mr. Shepler has designed and managed numerous water/wastewater  projects.

 

Mr. Shepler’s management and design capabilities include oversight and completion of designs for wastewater collection, transmission, and treatment facilities; reclaimed water delivery systems; utility corridors; potable water distribution and treatment systems; stormwater collection and treatment facilities; and site development projects.
